The Garden Grove Unified School District (GGUSD) selected DKP to provide “take-over” architectural services, from a previous architect, for the “Modernization” project, which was in the middle of the Construction Administration phase.

DKP was also selected, to provide “take-over” architectural services, from a previous architect, to be the replacement Architect-of-record, for the “HVAC, and Ancillary Scope” project which had been submitted to DSA and received plan-review comments.

DKP received the review comments and the documents from the previous architect. The computer files were converted to a usable format and then responses were made to the DSA comments. The project was then processed and obtained DSA approval and proceeded to the contractor bid phase. Scope includes replacement of all existing windows with new energy-efficient windows.

New, T-bar ceilings were installed throughout the campus. All work of the previously approved “Modernization” project was required to be brought up to the current 2013 code (CBC) compliance. Project was submitted and approved by DSA.

Construction administration for both projects was performed, concurrently. Project close-out and DSA certification is pending final issuance for both separate projects.
